How to get here by foot/cycle
Directions to Ffrydd House hostel coming from the South on the Offa's Dyke Path:
Just before Knighton you will walk round the edge of a golf course before descending through Ffrydd wood to a cul-de-sac. From the cul-de sac you will come out onto a main road. Turn right and continue down the main road past the hospital on your right until you reach a cross-roads. Turn left and Ffrydd House hostel is the third building on your left.
Directions to Ffrydd House hostel coming from the North on the Offa's Dyke Path:
After descending Panpwnton Hill you will cross the railway line and Teme River and shortly arrive at the Offa's Dyke Centre. Turn left out of the Offa's Dyke Centre and go down the hill through the town centre. You will pass the clock tower (start of the Glyndwr’s Way) and Knighton Hotel on the right hand side and the cenotaph on the left hand side. Continue straight on passing the Saffron Indian restaurant on the left. Ffrydd House hostel is on the right hand side just past Saffron's.

How to get here by public transport
There is a limited service to Knighton on the “Heart of Wales” line from Shrewsbury and Swansea directions. From Knighton station take the road towards town i.e. away from the steep wooded hill beside the station. You will pass a parade of shops and a tyre repair garage on the left and then Church Road on the right. You will emerge opposite the Knighton Hotel. Turn left here, past the Cenotaph and Ffrydd House hostel is approximately 70 metres along on the right hand side.
A more regular train service reaches Ludlow from where you can catch Whittle Bus no. 738 or 740 to Knighton. The bus journey from Ludlow takes an hour.
Bus service no. 468 is a regular service to Knighton from both Presteigne and Kington. The journey from Presteigne takes up to 15 or 45 minutes (depending on the service route). The journey from Kington takes 30 minutes or 60 minutes (again, depending on the service route).
Buses tend to stop either at Knighton Bus Station by the market or by the Offa’s Dyke Centre on West Street. To reach Ffrydd House hostel from the Market go along Bowling Green Lane. This will bring you onto Bridge Street. From the Offa’s Dyke Centre on West Street follow the directions above "to Ffrydd House hostel coming from the North on the Offa's Dyke Path".
Public transport to Knighton is limited and we advise you to confirm that all the necessary trains and buses are running before starting your journey.
How to get here by road
The A4113 runs to Knighton from Ludlow bringing you directly onto Bridge Street. Ffrydd House hostel is on your left (just past a filling station on the right). The driveway is to the right of the house.
If you are coming on the A488 from Penybont DO NOT turn left by a filling station as you enter Knighton. Go straight on and in ¼ mile (400m) you will come to a cross-roads by Harry Tuffins supermarket. Turn left and Ffrydd House hostel is the third building on the left hand side. The driveway is to the right of the house.
If you are coming on the A488 from Clun this will bring you past Knighton train station. You will then pass a parade of shops and a tyre repair garage on the left and then Church Road on the right. If you are coming on the B4355 from Knucklas this will join the A488 just by the Offa’s Dyke Centre. Go on down the hill through the town centre. You will pass the clock tower and then Knighton Hotel on the right hand side and the cenotaph on the left hand side. Continue straight on passing the Saffron Indian restaurant on the left. Ffrydd House hostel is on the right hand side just past Saffron's. The driveway is to the right of the house.
