Accommodation and Facilities
Ffrydd House hostel is an elegant 200-year-old town house with beautiful period features. It has been finished to a very high standard to provide a luxurious hostelling experience. We have set up our facilities to provide a balance of privacy and the hostelling ethos of interaction between guests. With a maximum of 6 guests at one time you can be assured of an uncrowded stay. Ffrydd House hostel offers self-catering accommodation sharing kitchen facilities with the owners. The large, beamed farmhouse kitchen is well stocked with plenty of appliances, pots, pans, glasses, cutlery, crockery and cooking/serving dishes. It has a large pine kitchen table and chairs, an Aga and a dishwasher.
The lounge / dining room has easy chairs, a TV and hi-fi, a large pine dining table and chairs and exposed beams and stonework. Upstairs, there is a library area with full bookcases and more comfy seating where you can relax and look out over the garden.
At the back of the house is a very large south-facing terrace for al fresco dining - ideal in summer for long lunches or lazy evenings, with the warmth from the stone of the house lasting long into the evening. There is also a rockery garden, a lawn surrounded by flowerbeds and a large parking area with space for at least 5 cars. All of this is contained behind large wooden double gates for privacy, and safety for children.
Ffrydd House hostel offers a drying room and laundry facilities. We know that these are very important facilities for those engaged in outdoor pursuits as anyone who has spent all day in the rain will agree. Under cover secure cycle storage is also available.
There are 3 comfortable bedrooms to give a real touch of luxury to your hostel experience. The 3 rooms consist of 2 double rooms and 1 bunk-bedded twin room.
“Garth” (Bedroom 1) overlooks the garden and has a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and TV.
“Panpwnton” (Bedroom 2) is at the front of the house and has a double bed, a settee, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe.
“Kinsley” (Bedroom 3) is at the front of the house and has bunk beds, a chair and a small cupboard.
All the beds have duvets and pillows and bed linen is provided. Towels can be hired at a charge of £1 each.
There are 2 bathrooms: one has a WC, washbasin and large built in shower; the second has a WC, washbasin and Victorian style roll top bath with brass feet.
We do not accept animals at Ffrydd House and both the house and garden are non-smoking.
